In the early 1930s, Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret began construction of an apartment building at 24 rue Nungesser-et-Coli, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Le Corbusier reserved the top two floors for his personal flat.
For the dining room in Le Corbusier’s apartment-studio, the three collaborators designed a large table with a thick marble top, derived from the one created for the Swiss Pavilion, but with a slightly different cast-iron base and Corolle legs.
For the living room, Le Corbusier designed a sofa with a tubular steel frame and leather cushions filled with feathers. In 1974, Cassina reinterpreted the original and produced a version with a chrome structure. Variations followed, with a new colour range and two- and three-seater versions, available in leather or fabric. The sofa is part of the Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand Collection.
